The ACT has reported 102 new cases of COVID-19 in the 24 hours to 8pm Thursday.

Case numbers have now broken ACT records three days in a row with 58 cases announced on Wednesday and 85 on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Australians will have their wait for a COVID-19 vaccine booster reduced as authorities scramble to slow the spread of the Omicron variant.

The new cases bring the active total to 334.

There are two people in hospital because of COVID, with none in intensive care.

There were 5075 negative tests received in the 24 hours to 9am Friday, as some testing sites will close or reduce hours on Christmas Day.

Meantime, the percentage of the eligible population who are now fully vaccinated has reached 98.5 per cent.

As Christmas Day approaches the Omicron variant and interstate travel requirements continue to impact residents with long lines at COVID-19 testing sites across the ACT.
