ACT records six new COVID-19 cases

The ACT has 144 active cases of COVID-19 after recording six new infections. (AAP)

The ACT has recorded six new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of active cases to 144.

Tuesday's figure is the lowest number of daily cases detected in the capital for almost two weeks.

There are eight people in hospital, with four of them in intensive care and ventilated.

The cases come as the new Omicron COVID-19 variant starts to spread in NSW, with exposure sites popping up in Sydney and the Central Coast.
