ACT records seven new cases of COVID-19

The ACT has reported seven new cases of COVID-19 in the 24 hours to 8pm on Friday.

There are six people hospitalised with active and cleared cases of COVID-19, five of whom are in intensive care, with four requiring ventilation.

The new cases bring the active total to 163, while the number of cases associated with this outbreak now stands at 1986.

There were 1679 negative tests received in the 24 hours to 9am on Saturday.

Meanwhile, the percentage of the eligible population who are now fully vaccinated reached 97.6 per cent on Friday, with the next update on vaccination statistics due on Monday.

NSW has recorded 235 local infections to its COVID-19 caseload but no further virus-related deaths.

The state's hospitals continue to treat 174 coronavirus patients, 26 of them in intensive care units.

Health officials say COVID testers processed more than 62,000 results in the 24 hours to 8pm on Friday.

NSW is now 94.5 per cent single-dose immunised for everyone aged 16 or over, while 92.3 per cent of the same group are fully vaccinated.

Victoria has recorded 1252 COVID-19 cases and five deaths.

The figures bring the total number of active infections in the state to 11,257.

There are 299 Victorians battling the virus in hospital, bringing the seven-day average down to 301, including 90 in intensive care and 22 on a ventilator.
