It has been one week since a new COVID-19 case has been detected in the ACT.

A Public Health Direction came into force on Thursday which legally required anyone returning from specific locations in Sydney's south-west to self-isolate.

The ACT government is also strongly advising anyone who was at the West Leagues Club in Campbelltown between 8pm on Friday, July 10, to 12am on Saturday, July 11, and between 12am and 2.30am on Sunday, July 12, to self-isolate immediately and get tested for COVID-19 as soon as possible, even if you do not have any symptoms.

The ACT government said anyone who was tested for COVID-19 should stay at home until they got the results.

If the test is negative and you develop respiratory symptoms within 14 days, you are asked to test again.

After a record week of testing, there are five remaining active cases of coronavirus in the territory.

More than 40,400 tests have been conducted since the pandemic hit in March.

Canberra had two of its biggest days of testing this week, with 1129 negative tests returned on Wednesday and 973 on Thursday.

There were 875 tests returned on Friday.

A rising caseload in NSW, with about 42 cases now linked to the Casula pub outbreak, has led the ACT government to enforce mandatory self-isolation for anyone returning from specific south-western Sydney areas.

The locations are:

  • Crossroads Hotel in Casula - between Friday, July 3 to Friday July 10.
  • Planet Fitness in Casula - between Saturday July 4 and Friday July 10.
  • Picton Hotel in Picton - on Saturday July 4, Sunday July 5, Thursday July 9 or Friday July 10.

On July 8, NSW and the ACT imposed strict rules for anyone returning from Victoria as the border between the states closed.

More than 200 exemptions have been granted to Victorians seeking to enter the ACT.

There have been 113 coronavirus cases in the ACT throughout the pandemic.

One hundred and five people have recovered and three lives have been lost.
