ACT records one new COVID case

Canberra has recorded one new case of coronavirus overnight, bringing the total number of active cases to 70.

ACT Health confirmed the result on Sunday morning following 11 new cases recorded on Saturday.

In the past 24 hours, 1207 Canberrans returned a negative test.

Four people are currently in hospital with the virus, with two people currently in ICU.

Over the course of the pandemic 2073 people in the ACT have contracted the disease.

The territory's vaccination rate sits at 98.2 per cent for people aged over 12 years.

NSW has recorded 485 new COVID-19 infections and two deaths, as the number of daily cases drops below 500.

Some 90,804 tests were recorded in the 24 hours to 8pm on Saturday, while the double-dose vaccination rate of those aged over 16 in NSW has reached 93.1 per cent.

Meanwhile, Victoria has recorded 1069 new COVID-19 infections and a further two virus-related deaths.

The state is now managing almost 11,400 active coronavirus cases. There are 310 COVID patients in Victorian hospitals, 74 of them in intensive care and 37 who require ventilation.
