Canberra recorded no new COVID-19 cases in a 24-hour period on Sunday but ACT Health has urged anybody who has undertaken recent interstate travel to monitor symptoms ahead of a return to school on Monday.

There are still five active cases of the virus in the ACT, which are all linked and stemmed from the Melbourne outbreak.

It came as the ACT ramped up its advice around an outbreak in NSW.

ACT chief health officer Dr Kerryn Coleman said people who had been interstate during the school holidays needed to keep up to date with advice, particularly those who had been to NSW.

"We are in a strong position in the ACT at the moment but we all need to work together as a community to ensure it stays that way," she said.

"If you have been away from the ACT these school holidays then make sure you check the latest advice at www.covid19.act.gov.au

"This is especially important for people who been in NSW, as the situation there is rapidly evolving."

There are still health directions in place for Canberrans who visited several venues in south west Sydney.

Anybody who visited the Crossroads Hotel in Casula between July 3-10, Planet Fitness in Casula between July 4-10 and Picton Hotel between July 4-5 and July 9-10 are required to self-quarantine by law for 14 days from their day of visit, regardless if they show symptoms.

Those who visited Plus Fitness in Campbelltown on July 11 between 9am-10am, the Thai Rock Restaurant in Wetherill Park between July 9-12 and July 14 and Wests Leagues Club in Campbelltown between 8pm and midnight on July 10 have been strongly advised to isolate.

They have also been encouraged to get tested.

There is also advice for those to self-isolate and get tested who were in Batemans Bay earlier this week, after two visitors to the seaside town tested positive.

In particular for those who visited the Batemans Bay Soldiers Club bistro between 7pm-9:30pm on July 13

As well, anybody who was at the BIG4 Batemans Bay East Caravan Park between July 13-14 should monitor their health closely.
