ACT records four new COVID-19 cases as testing numbers decrease

The ACT has reported four new cases of COVID-19 in the 24 hours to 8pm Tuesday as testing numbers drop.

The new cases bring the total number of cases to 2010 in the current outbreak, with 135 currently active in the territory.

Testing numbers were down with 1682 negative results compared to 3040 for Monday's reporting period.

Eight people are in hospital with three of those are in intensive care with two on a ventilator.

Meanwhile, the percentage of the eligible population who are now fully vaccinated has reached 97.8 per cent.

No new exposure locations were announced on Wednesday.

ACT Health has extended its quarantine requirements for international travellers with mandatory COVID-19 testing to restrict the spread of the Omicron variant of concern.

NSW has recorded 251 COVID-19 cases and zero deaths.

The new cases were diagnosed from 85,403 tests undertaken in the 24-hours to 8pm on Tuesday.

There are 154 patients in hospital, 25 of them in ICU.

Some 92.5 per cent of people 16 and older in NSW are fully jabbed.

Victoria has recorded another six deaths from COVID-19 and 1179 new cases, as the state reaches 91 per cent fully vaccinated.

There are 11,959 active coronavirus cases in the state and 299 patients in hospital, 43 people are in intensive care with 18 of those on a ventilator.

Meanwhile, a search is underway for three people who allegedly fled a Northern Territory COVID-19 quarantine facility near Darwin.
