ACT records eight new cases of COVID-19

The ACT has reported eight new cases of COVID-19 in the 24 hours to 8pm on Wednesday, as testing number fell from Wednesday but remained high.

There are seven people hospitalised with active and cleared cases of COVID-19, three of whom are in intensive care, with all three requiring ventilation.

There were 2618 negative tests received in the 24 hours to 9am on Thursday, after 3817 negative tests were reported on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, the percentage of the eligible population who are now fully vaccinated has reached 97.5 per cent.

Indoor play centres reopen

The ACT government will allow indoor play centres to reopen from Friday, but they must have a COVID safe plan approved by the office of the Chief Health Officer

Group bookings for indoor or outdoor play centres, arcades or amusement centres will no longer be limited to 20 people.

These spaces will still be required to operate with one person per two square metre capacity limit within each indoor and outdoor space.

NSW has recorded 276 new COVID-19 cases in the 24 hours to 8pm, with no deaths recorded in the reporting period.

The state's population aged 16 years and over is now 92.1 per cent fully vaccinated, while 94.4 per cent have had their first COVID-19 vaccine shot.

Those aged between 12 and 15 years are 75.9 per cent fully vaccinated, while 81.1 per cent have had their first dose.

There are 191 COVID-19 patients in hospital, with 31 in ICU.

Victoria has recorded 1254 new COVID-19 cases and five deaths, with the proportion of its fully vaccinated 12-plus population officially hitting 90 per cent.

The new infections bring the number of active cases in the state to 10,276, including 310 in hospital.

There are 48 people in intensive care actively infectious, while a further 48 have been cleared of the virus and 31 are on a ventilator.
