Nearly three weeks after the death of a 48-year-old man in Phillip in Canberra's south, police are asking for the public's help to identify a group of people seen "behaving suspiciously" in the area.

Glenn Walewicz was shot at the entrance to his Canberra home on June 10. He died in hospital a short time later.

Today ACT Policing asked anyone who saw a small group of people "behaving suspiciously" in the greenbelt area adjacent to Athllon Drive, Phillip, between 10:30pm and midnight on June 11 to come forward.

Officers said those people may have been associated with a light-coloured, four-door sedan.

The car was reportedly parked on the Mawson side of Athllon drive between Hindmarsh Drive and the Mawson shops.

In the days following the shooting, police conducted a line search along Athllon Drive between Mawson and Hindmarsh Drive.

They have also asked anyone who knew Mr Walewicz or may have any information on his murder to contact the Homicide Team directly on (02)5126 9590.

Police have not yet found the gun used in the attack.
