The ACT has reached a new daily record with 189 new cases of COVID-19 reported in the 24 hours to 8pm on Sunday, almost double the 71 cases announced on Boxing Day.
The new cases bring the active total to 688.
The previous record of 142 cases was announced on Christmas Day.
There is one person in hospital because of COVID. They are not in intensive care.
A Parliament House staff member has tested positive to COVID-19, the Department of Parliamentary Services has confirmed.
The staff member worked on the mornings of December 22 to 24 at the main front basement entrance to Parliament House.
ACT Health is investigating the case but those who work in the building are being advised no action is required at this time unless they have been alerted to being a close contact.
There were 4266 negative tests received in the 24 hours to 9am on Monday.
Meanwhile, the percentage of the eligible population who are now fully vaccinated has reached 98.5 per cent.

NSW has recorded 6324 COVID-19 cases and three deaths, after more than 400 people initially received a negative result on Christmas Day but were then notified they had tested positive.
The new cases were diagnosed from 97,242 tests undertaken in the 24 hours to 8pm on Sunday.
There are 521 patients in hospital, with 55 in the ICU.
Some 93.5 per cent of people 16 and older have are fully jabbed. Additionally, a total of 78.3 per cent of the population aged 12 to 15 are fully vaccinated.
Victoria has recorded another three deaths from COVID-19 and 1999 new cases. There are 16,467 active coronavirus cases in the state and 368 patients in hospital. A total of 80 people are in intensive care, with 38 of those on a ventilator.
