Canberrans are again allowed to travel to and from the greater Brisbane area, after the ACT government eased travel restrictions.
Hundreds of Canberrans in home quarantine after returning from the greater Brisbane area will also be able to leave home again, once they have received a negative COVID test result.
"The five local councils that make up Greater Brisbane - City of Brisbane, City of Ipswich, Logan City, Moreton Bay Region and Redlands City - will no longer be declared as COVID-19 affected areas," the statement from ACT Health said.
Travel restrictions will officially ease at 1pm.
ACT Health said people who had returned from Brisbane in the past 14 days still needed to be vigilant for symptoms and recently returned travellers must pay attention to exposure sites in greater Brisbane, wider Queensland and northern NSW.
Public health requirements remain in place for people who have been to exposure sites.
"The situation continues to evolve, so please keep up to update with the latest information from the ACT, Queensland and NSW governments," the statement said.
The government made the decision after Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk ended Brisbane's three-day lockdown.
For those planning on travelling over the Easter long weekend, ACT Health says Canberrans must be aware COVID-19 is still a risk.
"People should be prepared to change travel plans at short notice. This could include being required to quarantine and get tested," it said.
"When travelling over the Easter period, whether it be to Queensland or any other location, please be vigilant - keep up to date with identified exposure sites, and follow any requirements by the jurisdiction you are visiting."
