Achraf Lazaar has completed a season-long loan move to Cosenza.
The Newcastle United player will stay with the Serie B side until June 30 after Steve Bruce opted against handing him a squad number.
Lazaar played twice in pre-season against West Ham and Wolves, but the Magpies have struck an agreement with the Italian second-tier side.
In doing so they have trimmed the wage bill and handed Lazaar another chance to impress in Italy.
He spent the first half of the 2017/18 campaign with Benevento before returning to Tyneside.
The former Palermo star has two years left of his current contract.
Rafa Benitez signed the player for £2.6million from Palermo in 2016 but he has suffered injury problems and not been able to enjoy a run in the team.
