Achraf Lazaar back at Newcastle United but has been told to train with academy youngsters

Newcastle United left-back Achraf Lazaar has returned to the club - but has been told to train with club’s youngsters at the Academy.

The Morocco international - who is netting around £32,000 a week - was training alone in Sicily earlier in the summer after a loan stint with Serie B side Cosenza.

But the former Serie C outfit passed on the chance to turn his loan deal into a permanent move.

United boss Steve Bruce has told Lazaar and his agent to find another club after openly admitting it was time for him to find a “new home."

Lazaar, who Bruce had on loan At Sheffield Wednesday, has just nine months left on his current deal after arriving from Palermo in 2016.

The full-back has made just 10 appearances for United since his move from Palermo in the summer of 2016.
