Achraf Hakimi has already dropped hint about Inter Milan future amid Chelsea transfer links

Achraf Hakimi could potentially become a Chelsea player this summer, with reports suggesting that a bid had been made for the Moroccan full-back.

Sky Sports reported that the Blues had matched a £56.1million bid launched by French giants Paris Saint-Germain in an attempt to sign the defender.

It remains a mystery over whether that would be enough to convince his current employers Inter Milan to sell in the transfer window.

However, having just lifted the Serie A crown under Antonio Conte and with four years remaining on his contract in Milan, the Italian giants are under no pressure to let one of their star men go.

Hakimi himself has already given his verdict on a potential departure from the club, suggesting that he is eyeing an extended stay in Italy.

Speaking in April following the launch of Inter Milan’s new crest, the 22-year-old said: “The team that attracted me the most was Inter and I saw it as a growth project.

“I am honoured to be one of the testimonials for the new club logo. I like it, as it looks to the future, a future we can build together. I hope to stay at this club for a long time, I'm very happy.”

The interest in Hakimi comes just a year after he signed for Inter in a switch from Real Madrid.

With Los Blancos, the Moroccan developed a reputation as one of the most exciting attacking wing-backs in Europe.

That reputation was only harnessed during his two-year loan spell with Borussia Dortmund where he chalked up 12 goals and 17 assists over a couple of seasons at the Signal Iduna Park.

He continued that excellent form with Inter with his seven goals and ten assists being a key reason behind the club’s Serie A title success.
