A MAN, 18, accused of using a firearm to threaten four people during a break-in at Wallsend on Sunday night has been granted conditional bail to enter an alcohol and drug rehabilitation centre.
Kade Priestly appeared in Newcastle Local Court on Monday charged with specially aggravated break and enter and commit serious indictable offence and assault occasioning actual bodily harm after the 18-year-old and Aaron James Wilson, 20, allegedly went to a home in Chalmers Road, Wallsend about 11.30pm.
The pair argued with the occupants before Mr Priestly allegedly struck a man, 34, with a plastic pipe and then pulled out a firearm.
The two men fled on foot but were arrested a short time later.
Priestly was granted bail on Monday to immediately enter rehab, while Wilson had his application for bail denied.
