Accused Vic wife killer pleads not guilty

Accused wife killer Zoran Pandilovski will have his case fast-tracked from lower courts. (AAP)

A Melbourne man accused of killing his estranged wife will have his case fast tracked to Victoria's Supreme Court.

Zoran Pandilovski is charged with murdering Elaine Pandilovski at her Mill Park home in July this year.

He's also charged with reckless conduct endangering the lives of two people in a car crash at Mt Cottrell, 50km away, the same day.

Pandilovski has pleaded not guilty to the charges and elected to by-pass lower court proceedings to have his case sent straight to trial in the Supreme Court.

His lawyer Elizabeth McKinnon opposed the release of court documents containing details of his alleged crime, arguing it could prejudice his case.

"It's too much of a risk to release the summary at this point - it refers to the way that the deceased died," she told Melbourne Magistrates Court on Wednesday.

Ms McKinnon was concerned the case might be influenced if witnesses to give evidence in the Supreme Court knew those details.

Pandilovski remains in custody. He'll face a pre-trial hearing next month.
