A former cheerleader accused of molesting two teenagers in Sydney's north has been allowed to play in a rural rugby 7s competition while on bail.
Connor David Lind, 21, is alleged to have sexually abused three female victims, including two children under 16 years, from November 2020 to May 2021.
The Kirrawee man was arrested by police officers from the Child Abuse Unit on October 1, 2021 and faces trial in the Downing Centre District Court after denying all allegations brought against him.
On Thursday, Judge Warwick Hunt varied Lind's bail conditions, allowing him to stay with his stepfather in the surf town of Crescent Head on NSW's north coast for three days in February.
The new conditions, which were unopposed by crown prosecutors, let him attend and play in the annual Crescent Head Rugby 7s tournament.
Normally required to live with his stepfather in the Sydney suburb of Caringbah, Lind's bail conditions bar him from travelling north of Sydney Harbour or the Parramatta River without permission, prohibit contact with his alleged victims, and force him to stay at home from 8:00pm to 7:00am unless accompanied by his stepfather.
The ex-cheerleader is facing three counts of sexual intercourse and one count of sexual touching of a 14-year-old girl, and a further count of sexual intercourse with a 15-year-old girl.
He has also been charged with three counts of sexual intercourse without consent with a third alleged victim.
