TWO men accused of supplying methamphetamine out of a Kotara barbershop have been refused bail in Newcastle Local Court.
Dominic Louis Cyril Tourneur, 38, of Blue Haven, and 51-year-old Peter Todd Garay, of Hamilton South, were arrested on Wednesday after a three-month probe by Strike Force Wrack investigators into the supply of drugs from the shop.
Mr Tourneur has been charged with supplying prohibited drugs on an ongoing basis and dealing with the proceeds of crime over the discovery of $5000 in cash at the store. Mr Garay has been charged with supplying a commercial quantity of methamphetamine after police stopped him near the store on Wednesday.
The men did not enter any pleas in Newcastle Local Court, but Mr Tourneur, who was represented by barrister Isabel Reed, made an application for bail, which was refused by Magistrate Les Brennan. The matters were adjourned until May.
Investigators raided the barbershop, a unit at Newcastle and a property at Blue Haven on Wednesday, allegedly locating drugs and cash.
