Accrington Stanley chairman reveals generous Man City gesture

Accrington Stanley's chairman Andy Holt has revealed a generous gesture from Manchester City which has helped with their ongoing stadium rennovations.

Following the climax of the League One season Stanley, like many sides, have looked to rejuvenate their stadium by relaying the pitch and working on a new and improved stand.

And after a successful season in the third tier of English football, Stanley are looking to give back to their fans by improving the overall match day facilities at the Crown Ground.

Holt's work as chairman has been crucial in the continued rise of the club, but he has revealed how local businesses, including City have helped them achieve their ambition.

Taking to Twitter on Tuesday club chairman Holt revealed that City had donated a set of goalposts to the club, something which has saved them over £1,000.

"I’m not known for grumbling," Holt tweeted.

"But credit where it’s due. Man City have given us as new goal posts for free and Bracewell transport collected them for nowt. Saved us over a grand. Much appreciated."
