Accountancy firm Thompson Wright acquires counterpart

A growing chartered accountancy firm has expanded with the acquisition of a counterpart.

Thompson Wright – which has offices in Newcastle-under-Lyme and Leek, Staffordshire – has taken over Hanleys Chartered Accountants.

As part of the deal, Thompson Wright will take on Hanleys' team and retain its office in Hale.

The move will allow the company to grow its client base in Hale and the surrounding areas with the addition of Hanleys' professionals to support existing and prospective clients.

Thompson Wright – which has clients across Manchester, Cheshire, Staffordshire and the Midlands – described the merger of the two practices as "the perfect fit."

Richard Thompson, senior director at Thompson Wright, said: "We are delighted to be welcoming the Hanleys team and clients to our growing practice.

"This latest acquisition is an important step in our firm’s history, as we look to target new regions, sectors and organisations with our valued business, tax and accountancy services.

"We hope to connect soon with many of the businesses that Hanleys has so proudly supported, to offer them support from our wide range of experts and specialists."
