Accountancy firm appoints three new managing partners

EQ has appointed three new managing partners to manage its offices after current leader David Cameron took steps towards retirement.

The accountancy firm has appointed David Morrison to be in charge of its Dundee office, with Mark Smeaton in charge of its Forfar office and Mark Gibson the new managing partner at Glenrothes. They will each become responsible for the day-to-day operations of their offices.

Cameron will work with the firm as a part-time consulting partner from April. He was in charge of the firm for nearly 20 years and will use his experience to support the new partners in continuing its expansion.

Morrison said: “On behalf of the whole firm, I would like to thank David Cameron for his tremendous contribution, not only in his tenure as managing partner, but for his 35 years of dedication to EQ.

“His guidance has helped to shape the culture of the firm and enabled us to accomplish so much over the years, and we are grateful to have him remain as consulting partner so he can continue to offer his invaluable advice to ensure the continued success of the firm”.

“With our new management structure, and superb team of staff, we will ensure EQ continues to offer great client service, which underpins everything we do.”

Last year, the £9m turnover firm combined its Cupar and Dundee offices and began actively recruiting new talent.
