SULTANPUR LODHI: Reacting to the announcement of repealing of three Farm Laws, Punjab Congress president Navjot Singh Sidhu has said that if someone accepts ones mistake on Guru Nanak’s birth anniversary then Punjab may forgive him.
He also said that it was a big day as Kartarpur corridor has already been re-opened and there are innumerable possibilities associated with the corridor which open the actual path of progress of Punjab.
"To accept a fault is good. It is appreciable. It is not necessary to condemn. If someone sends our farmers back we are thankful," he said about PM’s announcement, after paying obeisance at historic Gurdwara Hut Sahib on the occasion of Gurpurab.
"New chapter is going to start but none should try to claim credit for this victory. The credit goes only to the satyagrah by Sanyukat Kisan Morcha. There were several attempts to defame the farm movement but they showed great tenacity and stuck to their ground. They followed the path of dharma", he said.
"Guru Nanak gave us kirat sabhiyachar (culture of earning earnest living) and it is only due to his blessings what Punjab has achieved," Sidhu said while mentioning that 650 lives were lost in farmers' movement.
"They were fighting to have food with dignity. It is imperative to give a roadmap to revive agriculture in Punjab. Now when the farmers would return after victory, the real challenge would start then. We shall be at the position where we were in June last year. It will be Guru Nanak’s philosophy which would help us to come out of the debt trap and Punjab would be back on the path of progress," Sidhu said.
He said that Guru Nanak’s concept of Sarbat da Bhala (welfare of all) was not being followed and only one percent persons in Punjab were being empowered. "Revenue from natural resources should go the exchequer and which should then return to the people, farmers and small traders," he said.
"Either keep mafia alive or Punjab. To keep alive Punjab 25,000 - 40,000 crore should go the exchequer and then should return to people. Punjab can’t improve on lollypops, or lies or false promises. I shall also give roadmap as that is for all", he said adding, "One who follows Guru Nanak and would say tera tera (yours yours) would be blessed and the one who would say mera- mera (mine- mine) would be finished politically".
Will "fearlessly" articulate something big at Kartarpur: Sidhu
Navjot Sidhu said that if he goes to Kartarpur Sahib on Saturday, he would fearlessly articulate another big thing there. “How arm twists are being done? How CMs dance to the tunes like puppets because they have lost the moral authority. They don’t have that capital (of moral authority) with which Guru Nanak blessed our family. Government would be formed on honesty, moral authority and character", he said.
