Bengaluru: ACB searches Congress MLA Zameer Ahmed Khan’s residences and offices, files illegal wealth case

BENGALURU: Sleuths of the Anti-Corruption Bureau on Tuesday raided Congress MLA Zameer Ahmed Khan and registered a Disproportionate Assets (DA) case against him, following a report from the Enforcement Directorate. The raids were carried out on five different places.

According to the ACB, these were Zameer Ahmed Khan’s residence near Cantonment railway station, house at Vasanthnagar, flat at Silver Oak apartment, Sadashivanagar guest house, GK Associates office at Banashankari and National Travels office in Kalasipalya. The raids continued till late night.

“Earlier, the ED had filed a complaint under Prevention of Money Laundering Act against Khan. While investigating it, ED sleuths stated that Khan had amassed properties beyond known sources of income. Accordingly, we raided him,” ACB sources said.
