Academy closes to year group after potential coronavirus symptoms reported

A city academy is closed for year six pupils - after people from the same bubble displayed potential coronavirus symptoms.

A spokeswoman for the Nottingham Primary Academy, in Sneinton Boulevard, confirmed the news on Monday morning (September 14).

The rest of the academy remains open.

A spokeswoman for the Academy said: "The health, safety and wellbeing of our pupils and staff is our top priority which is why, after individuals within the same bubble displayed symptoms that could be associated with Covid-19, we acted immediately and worked closely alongside Public Health England and the Health Protection Team to ensure the necessary steps and precautions were taken.

“That year group bubble is currently closed whilst we await results of Covid-19 tests.

"Because of the strict health and safety measures in place, the Academy continues to be safe for all other pupils and staff.

“We will be in regular contact with pupils, parents and staff to provide reassurance and up-to-date information and encourage anyone with concerns to contact the Academy directly so that we can provide the necessary support.”
