AC Milan plan move for Andreas Christensen if Chelsea are happy to sell amid Nathan Ake links

AC Milan are considering turning their attentions to Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen if the Blues indicate they are willing to do business this month.

The 23-year-old has made just 12 appearances for Chelsea this season.

Christensen missed a month of the campaign with a hamstring problem, while the emergence of Fikayo Tomori in addition to Kurt Zouma reviving his career at Stamford Bridge have restricted the Denmark international's opportunities.

Milan are in the market for a centre-back and reports in Italy this morning have linked the Rossoneri with a move for Christensen, with talks stalling with Barcelona over Jean-Clair Todibo.

Christensen has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge on several occasions in the past 12 months, with Juventus and Borussia Dortmund among the overseas clubs to have expressed an interest.

However, the Blues’ stance on Christensen is likely to depend to a significant extent on whether they decide to pursue a deal for Bournemouth’s Nathan Ake.

Chelsea sold Ake to Bournemouth in 2017 but have a buy-back clause set at £40m.

They would expect to recoup a similar fee for Christensen, although Milan are believed to be considering a loan move with a view to making a permanent deal in the summer.
