Abu Dhabi-based EOS Advanced Technologies is planning to invest Dh200 million ($54.4 Million) to research next generation defense systems in 2021.
Chief executive of EOS Abdulrahman Abdullah Al-Blooshi said they are targeting promising markets in the the Middle East and the MENA region, noting that the plan is part of a $1 billion global investment.
He said that EOS recently tested anti-tank missiles and a 30mm cannon from R400S-Mk2 remote weapon station mounted on a high mobility multi-purpose wheeled vehicle, adding that it was conducted from a center in Alabama, US.
For his part, Chief Executive of EOS Defense Systems USA Phil Coker said: “This was an exceptional opportunity to fire one of the most lethal anti-tank missiles in the world in conjunction with a 30mm chain gun to validate that they are completely inter-operable."
"The ability to effectively counter any maneuver threat on the modern battlefield is a significant advantage to an Army that has to deploy to any fight,” he added.
EOS Advanced Technologies is a subsidiary of Electro Optic Systems, an Australia-based company specializing in the development of remote weapon stations since its establishment in 1993.
