'Absurdly good' - Arsenal fans love what Emiliano Martinez has done against Man City

Arsenal are in FA Cup semi-final action as they aim to make it back to Wembley.

The Gunners are facing holders Manchester City, where at the start of play they were probably seen as second favourites.

However, Arsenal went into the game full of confidence following their 2-1 victory over Premier League Champions-in-waiting Liverpool in midweek.

Mikel Arteta’s men took the lead in the 18th minute of the game, with an 18-pass move ended in Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang stabbing in the ball at the back post.

It could have been more for the Gunners before the break as Arsenal had a number of chances to double their lead.

But it was a lead they took into half-time, with Arteta’s men expecting a fightback from Man City in the second half.

That means that they would have to call on goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez, who is deputising for the injured Bernd Leno.

The Argentine has been in impressive form since stepping up, and it is no different at Wembley against City.

With Pep Guardiola’s pushing for an equaliser, Martinez stood strong, saving from Mahrez down to his left.

The performance caught the eye of onwatching Arsenal fans.

The saves from Martinez proved to be priceless, with Aubameyang breaking away to double the Gunners’ lead with 20 minutes left to play.

Should the result stay the same, Arsenal will return to Wembley in the final on August 1, which also presents them with another chance to qualify for the Europa League.

The Gunners will have to wait to find out their opponents with Manchester United facing Chelsea in the second semi-final on Sunday evening.
