'Absolutely ridiculous!' - Angry Arsenal fans react to what Ben Chilwell did in Chelsea loss

Arsenal fans are not happy despite seeing Chelsea drop points for the second successive game.

After being beaten 1-0 by Everton last weekend, the Blues lost 2-1 away at Wolves on Tuesday evening.

Olivier Giroud's volley which crept over the line broke the deadlock early in the second half, although Daniel Podence and Pedro Neto completed the turnaround to inflict back-to-back defeats on the Blues.

As a result, Chelsea missed the chance to move top of the Premier League table and could drop out of the top four if Leicester City and Southampton beat Everton and Arsenal respectively.

Wolves 2-1 Chelsea: Frank Lampard press conference

Speaking after the game, Blues head coach Frank Lampard was asked if losing against both Everton and Wolves is just a blip.

"Well, that’s up to us isn’t it," Lampard said in his post-match press conference. "Everyone sung our praises and I was the last one to do that as it is my job to stay level headed at both ends.

"So I shouldn’t stay too disappointed tonight as much as I didn’t get too elated after Leeds on the back of a really good run. Clearly, when we perform like we did today that's not game management and quality levels that we are striving for.

"I still think there’s a lot of improving to do within the group so I wouldn’t say I am massively surprised.

"What my experience of the Premier League tells me, if you drop your stance, which we have in the last two games, particularly away from home then you can lose football matches so it is a big lesson for the players there."

With that said, there was a moment in the game that has garnered a big reaction from Arsenal fans on social media.

Still frustrated by Granit Xhaka's red card against Burnley, some Gunners supporters were adamant that Ben Chilwell should have been given his marching orders after appearing to grab Podence around his neck.

Take a look at what's been said on Twitter as even some Manchester United and Liverpool fans made the same point...

@IBfresh25 said: "Xhaka fully deserved his red card by putting his hand on someone’s throat but it was VAR that gave the red.. Why would VAR not do the exact same thing to Chilwell? I mean."

@JackTheLad_17 said: Chilwell did exactly what Xhaka did but Podence gets the yellow card... VAR not interested.2

@afcvlad said: "All I ask is for consistency."
