'Absolutely heartbroken' Pals pay tribute to 'one in a million' Scots woman after body find

'Absolutely heartbroken' pals have paid emotional tributes to a 'one in a million' Scots woman after cops found her body on a beach.

Cassandra MacDonald, believed to be from Invergordon, was reported missing after she was last seen at around 6.30am yesterday at a property in Columba Road in the the Dalneigh area of Inverness.

Police found a woman at North Kessock beach around 7.25pm last night who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Although formal identification is still to take place Cassandra's family have been told of the discovery.

Friends of Cassandra have now paid tribute to the 50-year-old online remembering her as a woman who had time for anyone and that she would be 'missed'.

Her sister Lara had shared the missing person's appeal yesterday branding it a 'difficult' post to share online.

Amanda Hamilton said: "Absolutely heartbroken cass you were one in a million. Rest easy up there."

Following the grim news, Isobel Livingston wrote: "RIP my darling, can't believe you're gone Cass you where so loved. I will love you forever till we meet again."

Yvonne Brooks wrote: "So sad to hear this. She always spoke to me down high street in Invergordon."

Vicky Piper added: "RIP Cass, I will miss you and our chats - thoughts are with all her family and friends at this tough, sad time."

Janet McDonald added: "So sad, rest in peace Cass."

Karen MacKay said: "RIP Cass, you're at peace now, thinking of your family at this sad time.

Myisha Jack added: Oh Cass god love ya girl! You rest now forever be loved and missed you truly are one of a kind."

Police Scotland have confirmed the family have been informed.

Sergeant Cameron Ross said: “Although formal identification is still to take place, she is believed to be 50-year-old Cassandra MacDonald who had been reported missing from her home in Inverness and her family has been informed.

“The death is not being treated as suspicious and a full report will be forwarded to the Procurator Fiscal.”
