AN iconic Glasgow pub has closed its doors for the final time, leaving regulars “gutted.”
The Park Lane, on Hope Street in the city centre, had been a much-loved spot for more than three decades.
Popular with both locals and tourists, the pub was known for its wide range of draught and bottled beers, premium whiskies, gins, and other spirits.
It marked its last weekend of trading just days ago.
(Image: The Park Lane Facebook) On social media, the owners wrote: "Our final post.
"We would like to take this opportunity to say a massive thank you to all our customers for your loyalty and support during our time here.
"We have never been the biggest, smartest, or stylish boozer, but we've always aimed to be the most hospitable and welcoming."
They went on to praise their “fantastic staff” and expressed sadness at no longer seeing their regulars, adding that they would cherish the many wonderful memories created over the years.
The social media post ended with: "It was also great to see so many of you on our last weekend.
"Take care, goodbye, and good luck to you all, and the new owners."
The closure announcement sparked a wave of comments from regulars.
One wrote: "Tragic, tragic news. So many happy memories. You will all be so very sorely missed."
Another said: "Devastated, this pub is what gets us to Glasgow so often. I'll be lost now coming to Glasgow."
A third added: "Loved going there and catching up with people I have known 40+ years..so glad we made it for the last night."
A fourth commented: "Sorry to hear this. Such a lovely bar with a great atmosphere.
"Loved a visit when we were down. Good luck with your next chapter, wishing you all the best."
A fifth simply stated: "Absolutely gutted, loved this wee pub."
