'Absolutely buzzing!' - Frank Lampard's Ruben Loftus-Cheek update has got Chelsea fans excited

It has been a long time coming, but Ruben Loftus-Cheek is nearing a return to first team football at Chelsea.

The Chelsea midfielder has not featured for the Blues at first team level yet this season, after sustaining an Achilles injury towards the end of the last season, prior to the Europa League final.

He has been back in training in recent weeks though and has featured for the Blues at U23 level.

And now, Frank Lampard has confirmed that Loftus-Cheek will be in the Chelsea squad to face London rivals Tottenham at Stamford Bridge tomorrow, in what is a crucial game in the battle for the top four in the Premier League.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Lampard said that Loftus-Cheek would not be fit to start the game, but would be in the squad and could be named on the bench.

His update has got some Chelsea fans excited, and here's what they have been saying on social media.

Loftus-Cheek has not featured for Lampard since he took charge at Chelsea last summer.

But the 24-year-old made 40 appearances last season for the Blues, scoring ten goals during Maurizio Sarri's time in charge in west London.

Loftus-Cheek also has ten England caps and featured for the Three Lions in the 2018 World Cup, after impressing during a loan spell at Crystal Palace.
