Absolutely Ascot's Alfie Best Jr has £100,000 Audi seized after doing 130mph

The son of one of Britain’s richest men had to fork out £4,500 on taxis after cops seized his flash car for doing 130mph on a motorway.

Alfie Best Jr, 23, was left to stump up twice for 440-mile rides halfway across France, costing £2,250 a time, after his Audi RS 6 was seized.

He was stopped in the £100,000 motor late at night as he raced from Calais to Cannes for a visit to the Riveria.

Cops pulled him over near Dijon, confiscated his car and later hit him with a £680 fine and six-month ban.

Alfie, who appeared on ITV reality show Absolutely Ascot, had to extend his stay so he and two friends could go back in another cab to collect the Audi after it had been impounded for a week.

And he told the Sunday Mirror: “They don’t play games out here. I wish I hadn’t done it now, I wasn’t thinking.”

Alfie is the son of mobile home park tycoon Alfie Best Sr, who is worth a reported £341million and the 382nd wealthiest person in the UK.

He had gone through the Eurotunnel and driven 350 miles before police pulled out in front of him on the motorway.

He was told to swap seats with his front passenger and follow the cops to a police station. The car was later put on a truck to be taken to a pound.

Alfie said: “I knew it was a bit of a chew but I didn’t think for the life of me they’d take the car. I won’t be speeding any more, it can cause you a lot of grief.”

Alfie is heir to his dad’s Wyldecrest Parks empire, Europe’s largest residential mobile home park operator.

Last year Alfie Sr revealed he had just bought his first £3.6m Airbus EC130 helicopter plus a £1.2m limited-edition Mercedes G-Wagon pick-up truck to add to his £2.7m Bugatti Chiron, £2m Bugatti Veyron and £350,000 Rolls-Royce Dawn.

He owns homes in London and Surrey, a farm in Hertfordshire and 11 villas in Barbados that he rents out.
