Abramovich's ruthless verdict reminds Chelsea fans of fortune that solved Solskjaer type dilemma

Gary Neville reminded Chelsea fans how lucky they are to have had Roman Abramovich instil such a ruthless but fruitful managerial regime at Stamford Bridge.

The former Manchester United defender spoke on Sky Sports to cast his doubt as to whether Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be sacked before the end of the season despite now being winless in six Premier League games.

Neville's argument shines a light on the key difference between the two sides and how the west Londoners are now propelling ahead of United as a result, thus bridging the gap between Manchester City and Liverpool.

Chelsea's managerial conveyor belt has become ingrained in the club's DNA since the Russian billionaire's arrival in 2003 but it is exactly this principle that has set a winning mentality around the club, separating the good from the great.

There were always lots of comparisons drawn between Solskjaer and Frank Lampard's time at Chelsea; both former greats of the club, neither with overwhelming experience but both primed to prove they warranted a fast-tracked pass to the first team dugouts.

Either boss went head to head and the United looked to have revived somewhat of Sir Alex Ferguson's legacy meanwhile the Blues launched themselves into a new academy-driven era.

But, despite Solskjaer and Lampard's respective success, Chelsea always had a crisis plan in the event that their club legend would have to be sacked - according to Neville, United do not.

"I don't think they’ve planned for another manager this season and they'll sit with Ole till the end of the season," Neville said, highlighting the polar approaches between Chelsea and United in the boardroom.

"There will be a massive outcry from fans and media from everybody that he should be sacked and I can understand why after that game. It takes some recovery.

"The media have asked questions and the feeling is they believe in the project. Ole believes he’s close, I remain to be convinced. Man United aren’t good."

Chelsea's courage in the boardroom is unrivalled and they're able to enforce tough decisions with the club's best interests at heart which is a rare commodity in football.

Many Blues fans would've loved to see Lampard be given more time and clamber through his rough patch, Abramovich made the right decision to replace the club legend with Thomas Tuchel as soon as he did.

While the Manchester Evening News report that Solskjaer still faces the sack before the end of the season, it is safe to say that if Abramovich was calling the shots at Old Trafford then the Norwegian would have a taxi ready for his departure a few weeks ago.

Managerial dismissals can pull on fans' heartstrings but all while Abramovich is at Chelsea, Blues fans can always be confident that the club will always make the right call with regard to managerial decisions.
