Abraham the star man as Kovacic and Mount also impress the Chelsea fans against Aston Villa

It was a welcome return to the Chelsea side for Tammy Abraham as he scored a goal and provided an assist for Mason Mount in the win against Aston Villa last night (Wednesday).

The Blues returned to winning ways with a 2-1 victory against Villa at Stamford Bridge, following recent defeats against Manchester City and West Ham United.

Abraham missed the 1-0 defeat at home against the Hammers on Saturday, having taken a bang to the hip in the 2-2 draw with Valencia in the Champions League last week.

But he was back - and back among the goals - as Frank Lampard's Blues claimed all three points against Dean Smith's men.

Abraham opened the scoring in the first half with a header, before Trezeguet levelled things up for the visitors before half time.

However, Mount scored what proved to be the winning goal in the second half of the game, firing home superbly from Abraham's cushioned lay-off to help the Blues to victory.

There were a number of fine individual performances in what was an impressive team effort overall, and that was reflected in the player ratings given out by our Chelsea correspondent, Oliver Harbord.

We then asked you for your verdict on the Chelsea players, and you have been voting using our interactive widget on football.london.

And Abraham tops the charts, based on the average rating from the fans.

The 22-year-old has an average mark of 8.4 from the fans, with Mateo Kovacic second best with a rating of 8.0.

Mason Mount (7.8), N'Golo Kante (7.7) and Kurt Zouma (7.6) also scored highly, while no player that started scored a rating of less than seven from the fans.

Christian Pulisic (7.4), Willian (7.3) and Reece James (7.3) scored well, with Kepa Arrizabalaga and Andreas Christensen both receiving an average rating of 7.0.

Of the three substitutes, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Jorginho were both given an average rating of 5.4 after brief cameos, while Michy Batshuayi scored 5.1.
