'Above all others' - Ex-Liverpool midfielder claims Nantes team-mate better than Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino

Former Liverpool midfielder Pedro Chirivella believes one of his current Nantes teammates outshines Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane on the basis of 'pure talent'.

Chirivella made 11 first-team appearances for the Reds prior to the leaving the club on a permanent basis in the summer of last year in search of regular first-team football.

The Spaniard has seen his wish granted since joining the Ligue 1 side, having made 35 appearances for Nantes last campaign and maintained his place in the starting-eleven this term.

One player he has enjoyed operating alongside during his time at the club is attacking midfielder Ludovic Blas, who he has backed for a 'bright future' in the game.

Such is the talent of the 23-year-old, Chirivella has claimed that Blas is a cut above the Reds' famous front three and any other player he has played alongside to date in his career.

“When it comes to pure talent, I rate Ludovic Blas above all others," he told French magazine So Foot.

“I played with Coutinho, Firmino, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane, I know what they are capable of.

“And when I see what “Ludo” is doing in training or in games, he has nothing to envy them when it comes to talent.

“He's incredible, spectacular, and his future looks bright. We are often lined up together in the middle, we see football the same way, and it is a pleasure to grow alongside him."

Blas scored ten goals and registered five assists in Ligue 1 last campaign and has enjoyed a productive start to the current season with seven goals in 17 appearances.

He joined Nantes one year prior to Chirivella's arrival from fellow French side Guingamp.
