Abigail Breslin blasts troll who called her a loser for wearing mask after dad died from Covid

Actress Abigail Breslin has savagely hit back at an online troll who branded her a loser for wearing a mask as during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Stillwater star, 25, posted an image to Instagram on Tuesday of her enjoying a rollercoaster ride in Las Vegas while wearing a face covering.

Shortly after, she shared an awful comment she received from one user which asked: "Who's the pathetic loser wearing a mask?"

The actress quite rightly took offence to the comment and hit back: "That pathetic loser would be me, someone who lost their dad due to someone not wearing a mask and giving him Covid."

She ended the message: "You can kindly go f*** off now."

When she posted the nasty comment and her response to her social media, she captioned the post: "Sorry not sorry."

Thousands of followers jumped to her defence and shortly after she uploaded further interaction and thanked two of her fans for "having her back" during the vicious exchange.

The abusive social media user replied to one of Abigail's defenders named Jillian: "I'm pretty sure wearing a mask isn't going to save anyone's life lol.

"Clearly I know more than her if she thinks someone who wasn't wearing a mask killed her father when in reality he was weak."

Jillian clapped back: "You don't know her and you didn't know him. If you want to not wear a mask and find out, be my guest. But you will NOT talk about him that way. Period.

"Actual human garbage. One day, when you lose someone, I hope people show you more grace than you quite frankly deserve."

She continued: "Until then keep his name out of your F***ing mouth."

The user commented back to say they have never been sick despite never wearing a mask during the pandemic and told Jillian to "move on with your life".

In February last year, the actress who has also starred in Little Miss Sunshine and Scream Queens revealed her dad's death from the virus.

Alongside a series of old photos of the pair, the star wrote a lengthy post. She began: "My daddy... Oh wow. Hard to write this. Harder than I thought. I'm in shock and devastation.

"At 6:32 PM EST, my sweet, perfect, amazing, heroic, wonderful dada passed away after my family and I said goodbye.

"It was COVID-19 that cut my sweet daddy's life too short. I appreciate more than you know, the love and support my family and I have received.

"Mostly I want to remember my dad for who he was."

She went on to discuss at length all the things her dad had loved, including a specific way to make a cup of coffee and his favourite ice cream flavours.

Abigail ended by saying: "I miss you daddy. I can't wait to see you again. I won't ever, ever, ever forget you."
