
Former prime minister Abhisit Vejjajiva was re-elected leader of the Democrat Party at the party's general assembly on Sunday.
The re-election of Mr Abhisit followed the party's primary vote on Saturday.
There were three candidates for the post of party leader in the primary vote - Mr Abhisit, former Phitsanulok MP Warong Dechgitvigrom and former deputy party leader Alongkorn Ponlaboot.
In the primary vote, Mr Abhisit came first with 67.505 votes, Dr Warong received 57,689 votes and Mr Alongkorn 2,285 votes.
The three names were forwarded to the general assembly for a final decision, but both Dr Warong and Mr Alongkorn withdrew from the race, leaving Mr Abhisit the uncontested winner.
Mr Abhisit's nomination for the party leader post was endorsed by 96.77% of the 259 party members who cast their vote.

The assembly also elected Siriwan Pratsajaksatru as deputy party leader for the North, Vithoon Nambutr for the Northeast, Sathit Pithuthecha for the Central region, Nipit Intarasombat for the South, and Sansern Samalabha for Bangkok.
Eight others were also elected deputy party leaders with differing responsibilities. They were Jurin Laksanavisit, Nipon Boonyamanee, Issara Somchai, Korn Chatikavanij, Chinaworn Boonyakiat, Panich Vigitsreth, Alongkorn Ponlaboot and Asqwin Wipusiri.
Juti Krairiksh was re-elected party secretary-general.
