Abhay Deol is not surprised by the 'Pathaan' controversy; says one day we'll look back and laugh at the stupidity

Abhay Deol recently opened up about the cancel culture in Bollywood and the entire controversy surrounding Shah Rukh Khan starrer ‘Pathaan’.

According to the actor, we live in a polarised world. He feels that social media and technology have made information very fast but there is also disinformation at many levels. There is this tendency to reduce things to a headline. There is inconsistency everywhere, whether it is the media or people consuming that media.

When asked if it bothers him as an artist, Abhay added that it is a new space and technology. Maybe 50 years from now people will look back and laugh at the stupidity.

Speaking about the ongoing ‘Pathaan’ controversy, Abhay told India Today that for him, it is not something unimaginable. According to him, if you want to make an issue of something, you can easily do it. It is possible. Many people have done it before and will continue to.

‘Pathaan’ also stars Deepika Padukone and John Abraham in lead roles. It is slated to hit the theatres on January 25, 2023.
