ABF officers arrest man accused of importing dozens of childlike sex doll parts

A man accused of importing sex doll parts in the shape of children has been arrested in Hobart.

Around 60 doll parts were found by Australian Border Force officers in Melbourne last month, more than 40 of them categorised as childlike.

Officers visited a South Hobart property on Thursday morning, where they found another 23 parts and arrested the 28-year-old Chinese national.

He was charged with one count of importing a Tier 2 good.

Childlike sex dolls are categorised as child abuse material.

"These dolls are harmful and they have no place in the Australian community," enforcement operations south Acting Commander Nicholas Walker said.

"The commercial nature of this importation should be seen as extremely concerning."

The man was granted bail to appear in the Hobart Magistrates Court in February next year.

He faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in jail and fines up to $555,000.
