Abersoch beach hut could smash price record in Wales after going on market

A beach hut could smash the price record in Wales after going on the market for offers over £175,000.

Small huts on Abersoch’s Porth Mawr have hit some staggering prices at auction in recent years - with the record standing at the £160,000 secured for a shack in summer 2017.

But that could be shattered by a new beach hut for sale with estate agent Beresford Adams.

The owner wants in excess of £175K - £15,000 over the previous record.

This is despite the hut having no mains electric and owners not being able to stay overnight.

The average house price in Gwynedd is around £184,000, which is itself a major increase on 12 months ago and has prompted concerns over local people being priced out of the market by holiday home buyers.

This particular hut lies about 150 yards from the golf slipway towards the South Carernarfonshire Yacht Club.

Beresford Adams said: "The hut is a reasonably modern constructed hut (13 5 x 10 6) the main structure is built of modern materials, plastic coated sheeting with timber flooring and timber cladded internally with a changing cubicle, work top double base cupboards and double wall cupboard above.

"The hut is ready to use, just sit back and relax in a deck chair and embrace the sea air and marvel at the wonderful views across the Bay to St Tudwals Islands."
