A HUNTER teenager will face court in July after police charged the 15-year-old in relation to several alleged aggravated break and enter offences, including one when more than $16,000 in mountain bikes were taken.
The Port Stephens-Hunter police proactive crime team kicked off Operation Golding in June to investigate a rise in property crime across Rutherford, Aberglasslyn and parts of Maitland.
Shortly after noon on Monday police arrested a 15-year-old boy at an Aberglasslyn address.
It is alleged the youth was involved in an April 16 robbery at a business in High Street at Maitland where more than $16,000 in mountain bikes were taken and the shopfront was damaged.
He is also accused of breaking into a Weblands Street school in Rutherford on April 30 and stealing several tablet computers, and a fast food restaurant in Arthur Street on June 22 when a sum of cash was stolen and the property significantly damaged.
The youth was formally charged with three counts of aggravated break and enter in company with intent to steal.
He received strict conditional bail and will face a children's court on July 17.
