Aberford Road crash update as one person rushed to hospital

A crash victim was rushed to hospital after the accident closed a main road in Leeds this afternoon.

A crash near the railway bridge on Aberford Road, in Woodlesford, saw the road closed in both directions after emergency services including police and an ambulance rushed to the scene.

The road was closed in both directions, causing heavy traffic in the area.

Police have confirmed that the road has now reopened.

The duty inspector for West Yorkshire Police said: "There was a road traffic collision in that location earlier today between two vehicles.

"One party was injured and was taken to hospital.

Heavy traffic was reported in the area while the emergency services dealt with the aftermath of the collision and diversions were in place.
