Aberdeen 'to face wait' in order to secure signing of Celtic defender Liam Scales

Aberdeen 'to face wait' in order to secure signing of Celtic defender Liam Scales

ABERDEEN could be playing a waiting game to sign Liam Scales from Celtic this summer, according to a report.

The full-back is a prime target for Jim Goodwin at Pittodrie in the transfer window.

Earlier reports suggested that the Irishman will look to secure a permanent deal, however, an initial loan move could be on the cards.

Now, the Daily Record say that the Dons could be made to wait for the man.

It's said that Celtic will not allow Scales to leave the club while they wait on players returning from injury.

Goodwin secured his first signing as Aberdeen manager this week, with Ylber Ramadan arriving for £100,000.

The former St Mirren boss is also looking to reunite with Connor Ronan and Jamie McGrath in the north east.

The report states that Ipswich goalkeeper Vaclav Hladkay is another target, as well as soon to be out-of-contract Blackburn midfielder Jacob Davenport.
