Aberdeen striker Bruce Anderson tipped to make big impact during loan spell at Ayr United

Mark Kerr is backing Aberdeen kid Bruce Anderson to hit the goal trail for Ayr this season.

The Dons fringe man signed a year’s loan deal at Somerset on Monday.

And Kerr told the Ayrshire Post: “We’ve been chasing Bruce for a while so we’re delighted to get this over the line.

“He’ll score goals at this level and is really hungry for his chance.

“We needed another option up top who would be a threat and bring others into the game and he’ll do that for us.”

Dons boss Derek McInnes added: "Bruce is very much part of our long-term plans at the club and this move to Ayr United offers the perfect opportunity for him to gain some valuable minutes in what I am sure will be a competitive league.

“In light of some of our strikers due to return to training in the coming weeks, it was important Bruce was not left without the chance to go and play and score goals.

“His objective is to do well during his loan spell and come back to us ready to feature for the first team.”
