Aberdeen and Scotland star Declan Gallagher has taken to Twitter to blast back at racist English fans who have abused Bukayo Saka following England's Euro 2020 final defeat against Italy.
The Arsenal star was one of three England players who missed penalties in the 3-2 shootout defeat following a 1-1 draw at Wembley, and he, Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford have all been the targets of racist abuse.
Responding in particular to abuse aimed at Saka, Blantyre lad Gallagher said: "This is a disgrace, the bravery all the lads showed to hit pens for their country.
"Every one of them put their heart n soul into the game to get racially abused by idiots #kickitout.
"No place in the world for racism."
Within minutes of Saka's penalty being saved he received abuse on Instagram, in a deluge of 'monkey' emojis.
Abuse levelled at the three players has been condemned by the FA, who issued a statement reading: "We could not be clearer that anyone behind such disgusting behaviour is not welcome in following the team.
"We will do all we can to support the players affected, while urging the toughest punishments possible for anyone responsible.
"We will continue to do everything we can to stamp discrimination out of the game, but we implore government to act quickly and bring in the appropriate legislation so this abuse has real life consequences.
"Social media companies need to step up and take accountability and action to ban abusers from their platforms, gather evidence that can lead to prosecution and support making their platforms free from this type of abhorrent abuse."
