Aberdeen loanee Bruce Anderson hasn't spoken to Stephen Glass over new deal

Bruce Anderson revealed that he’s not spoken to new Aberdeen manager Stephen Glass since he took charge at Pittodrie.

The 22 year-old striker is out of contract at the end of the season and has enjoyed an impressive spell on-loan at Hamilton.

Although Glass was officially appointed almost two weeks ago, there has been no contact with Anderson who remains focused on his spell at Accies.

He said: “I’ve not spoken to anyone at Aberdeen. I’ve made it pretty clear to everyone that I just want to get my head down and focus upon my time at Hamilton.

“I’ve loved every minute of it and I’m solely focused on helping the club stay in the league. “Our full focus has to be on keeping ourselves in the league.”

Hamilton face five massive games to finish the season which will determine whether they’ll preserve their Premiership status for another season.

Brain Rice’s side were knocked out of the Scottish Cup by St Mirren in an eventful game where Anderson felt Accies should have been awarded a penalty for a foul on Ronan Hughes.

Anderson said: “It looks like a penalty from where I was but I’m not the referee and it’s down to what he sees. It’s frustrating but we just have to get on with it.”

“As players, you always want to go on a cup run because there is nothing better than when you’re winning games.

The Buddies were comfortably the better side for the opening twenty minutes as Hamilton struggled to deal with their attacking threat.

But Accies responded well and were the dominant side until Kristian Dennis added a second for the Saints with 15 minutes remaining.

Hamilton spurned numerous chances to equalise up until then with David Moyo guilty of missing a glorious opportunity when he headed over from six yards out.

“It’s not just David, “ Anderson said on Accies’ profligate finishing. “I’ve had a chance, Jamie Hamilton’s had a chance and if we’d taken them, then it would be a different result.

“At the end of the day, we have to take our chances and we’ve not done that so we’ve lost the game.

“If one of those chances had gone in then we’d probably go on to win the game. After their first goal went in, we got ourselves together and we settled into the game. It’s a really disappointing afternoon.”
