Aberdeen land RoPS Rovaniemi in Europa League first round qualifier

Aberdeen have been drawn against RoPS Rovaniemi in their Europa League first round qualifier.

Derek McInnes ' team will face the Finnish side, after the draw took place today in Nyon, Switzerland.

Aberdeen are scheduled to be at home for the first leg, to be played on Thursday, July 11.

The list of possible opponents was small for this round of the qualifiers, with the Pittodrie outfit only facing one of eight sides.

The Dons are ranked in 192nd place in the European coefficient before this campaign kicks off.

The Scottish Premiership side are now veterans of this game having been involved in the qualifying stages for the past five campaigns.

Last year they went crashing out in the first round, losing to English Premier League side Burnley 4-2 on aggregate.

The second leg is pencilled in to be played on Thursday, July 18.

The Europa League final will be held at Stadion Energa Gdańsk on 27 May 2020.
