Aberdeen chief Dave Cormack fires reminder to Jason Leitch as he calls out 'unregulated mess'

Dave Cormack has sent a reminder to Jason Leitch over Aberdeen 's successful fan return test event.

The Dons chairman highlighted the national clinical director's previous comments that outdoor events were less risky than indoor.

He called out an "unregulated mess" which followed Scotland's Euro 2020 play off final victory over Serbia, possibly in reference to scenes inside some pubs following Thursday night's clash.

Social media footage emerged showing some venues not implementing social distancing restrictions.

Cormack has been at the forefront of the push to get supporters back in grounds and the Dons held a trial run during the Premiership win over Kilmarnock in September.

Permission for a second event for last month's clash with Celtic was denied and Cormack has now called for "fairness in restrictions".

He wrote on Twitter: "What about fairness in restrictions. The highly regulated Tests we've pulled off should be no surprise to @jasonleitch who told Clubs outdoor fresh air events in stadiums were more palatable than indoor events. Witness the unregulated, hopefully isolated, mess Thursday night!

"Some clubs have reluctantly cut back on community programs & academies to stay competitive at first team level. It's called survival! What Scottish Football needs is urgent dialogue, encouragement & a plan to get fans back safely. Will @NicolaSturgeon @jasonleitch meet us?"

"Finally, it's about time we as Scottish Football fans stood up for the good we do, the lives we touch, & the positivity we bring to our communities. If we as fans don't stand up for Scottish Football... who else will! For us... Nothing Matters More!"

Cormack has previously used his platform to ask questions of the Scottish Government, calling for a "real plan" to get stadiums open again.

He wrote in October: "Supported by Aberdeen City Council we applied for a second test event versus Celtic to include 1,000 fans, just 5% capacity, out in the open fresh air. Got a polite "no" from @scotgov @jasonleitch stating our first test was a success & latest plan was robust & in excellent shape.

"@jasonleitch told SPFL execs that outdoor events like football were much more palatable than indoor events. Meanwhile flights are at 100% capacity with recycled air & no social distancing. Hundreds of thousands of fans eagerly await Clubs & @scotgov coming up with a real plan.

"We plan to share these robust test regulations with our fans later this week. Not one single positive case has emerged from the 300 who attended our first test. We are NOT asking for carte blanche... these are "Test Events"... NOT a commitment for multiple games!"
