Aberdeen boss Derek McInnes has confirmed Nottingham Forest target Scott McKenna has been the subject of another transfer bid.
McInnes says he does not know if the Reds have made a “written offer” for the defender, but revealed there had been a fresh one from QPR last week which included potentially sizeable add-ons.
Both Championship clubs are understood to have already had bids – believed to be in the region of £3m - turned down, while Hull City, Stoke City, Aston Villa and Celtic have also previously been keen on the 22-year-old.
Centre-back McKenna was in the starting line-up for the Dons yesterday as the Scottish Premiership club beat Hearts 3-2.
But his manager admitted he is not sure if the 22-year-old will be make the trip to Croatia for a Europa League third round qualifier against HRK Rijeka on Thursday.
“Will Scott be on the plane? Who knows,” McInnes said after yesterday’s game. “But as it stands, if there is no other action he will be.
“There was a fresh offer.

“I don’t know if there was a written offer from Nottingham Forest but there certainly was from QPR on Friday – but clearly it wasn’t enough.
“It was a slight increase and it was structured in a certain way but it was not enough for the club to accept.
“Scott’s had a lot to contend with but his performances have been great.
“It’s up to the buying club to make my chairman think differently but as it stands Scott will remain with us.”
Forest head coach Sabri Lamouchi said after his side's opening day defeat to West Bromwich Albion: "We are looking for opportunities to make signings."
The Reds will continue their search for a right-back as a matter of urgency before Thursday's transfer deadline, following the injury to Tendayi Darikwa, and are also targeting a left-sided central defender, as well as, potentially, a striker.
