Prime Minister Shinzo Abe held telephone talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping on Friday. Following the talks, Abe told reporters that the two leaders share the view of regarding the Panmunjom Declaration highly, which includes the two Koreas' aim for complete denuclearization of North Korea.
Abe also said they confirmed that they would thoroughly implement U.N. Security Council resolutions on North Korea.
"I indicated to President Xi my respect for China's efforts over North Korea's move toward resolving its nuclear and missile issues," Abe said.
This was the first time for Abe and Xi to hold telephone talks.
